OPEN POST: Yusuke Kitagawa (Fox) - Persona 5

Permanently open post! Come help me voicetest/pose for Yusuke's art/feed this starving boy idk. Or if you need inspiration, roll a prompt from the random scenario meme.
EDIT (FEB 2021): Yusuke is vanilla, Royal, or PQ2 compliant! Let me know what your preferences are if you have any. I haven't played Strikers yet, so please hold off on tagging me with any new characters or spoilers for the time being.

or maybe akira's just getting a little kitchen practice in leblanc while sojiro runs around the corner to get cigarettes. yusuke gets a free meal today, leader's treat. though as he sets down the plate in front of yusuke's spot at the counter, he glances towards the door.
oh.]
...It started snowing.
[well, that could draw a different sort of inspiration, he supposes.]

Yes, the rice is so light and fluffy, it is almost like snow. And then the curry, which makes the rice melt like snowflakes in my mouth...!

Hello there, Kitagawa-san. I thought I saw you over here. Doing some people-watching?
[FOOTNOTES:
* It is not pleasant, it's cold and awful and the weather is so dry that breathing is less like inhaling air and more like the air on the outside is just sucking out any moisture you might have wanted in your lungs.
** Shinjuku station is also not pleasant, it's a horrible labyrinth and there's always a gajillion people and construction detours everywhere, all the time.
*** It's possible I just don't know what pleasant means]

He's so focused on making the nearest group of tourists as uncomfortable as possible with his staring that he doesn't spot Akechi until he's addressed.]
Ah, that's correct. Ordinarily I prefer Shibuya, but I wondered if a change of scenery might provide me with further stimulation.

Do you have pointy eyes that only see pointy things? It's all like that. I don't like it.

Alone, that is. As logical as it would be to ask him when the thieves convened upstairs, or even in Mementos, he's... well, not embarrassed, but it's a delicate subject, okay! He can't allow anyone to overhear! Not even Joker!
That, too, was logical up until the point Yusuke arrived and now he's been struggling with a way to break the ice. Sat on a stool at the bar, he's grumbling out meows at high speed, along with frequent sighs. Even the dish of fish Joker left behind before heading out to do laundry has been untouched.]
Yusuke? I uh. [Come on Morgana! You can do this!] I need a favour--!!
[actually it comes out so fast it sounds more like "i need fur".
he tried.]

W-well, yes, that is one such interpretation. However... they also resemble bloodstains dripped around the edges of the canvas, would you not agree? [He looks from the painting, then to Mary.] What may appear beautiful at first glance can also be threatening.

Sorry for making you wait! also for the long... set up ;;
It felt odd not waking up in Sojiro's cafe, staring at the cobweb and cold breeze from a window. But also, he was glad he could come back and hang 'Desire and Hope' somewhere where spiders won't crawl all over it. Right above his desk.
All the trinkets he got from his friends were now locked in a small treasure chest. The likes that pirates use. Morgana nagged how the chest reminded him too much of Ryuji, but it made Akira smile.
But still, it wasn't the same. He wanted to see them- all of them, again. Spend lots of times just sitting around, talking about everything and nothing. Have Yusuke see aesthetics in everything they do- from grocery shopping to planting trees.
His friend has been a lot on his mind recently. Aside from the painting that makes him think of him whenever he walks in the room when he's going to school and doing chores, he wonders if he's properly eating. If he has enough money for everything. Morgana even called him out on it, calling him a worrywart but, compared to rest of the thieves, Yusuke is the one acting more on impulse. Spending money on new art book instead of on food.
When Akira's worrying became annoying, Morgana decided that enough was enough.
Now, the Phantom Thief's leader is sitting at his desk, claw scratch across his nose, typing a message to Yusuke.]
1/2: Golden Week is starting soon. Would you like to come and visit me?
2/2: If you're free, of course.
no problem! the setup is perfect <3
He's still a regular at Leblanc even without Akira around, enjoying the company of the "Sayuri", the occasional free meal if Sojiro is feeling generous (or taking pity), and even if Futaba complains about the stupid Inari lurking around the cafe, they somehow wind up hanging out together by the end of the day.
Akira's absence is sorely missed, however: he enjoyed having someone to consult on his ideas, or to take along with him on his various quests for inspiration. But Yusuke's sure he's fine, when he's the most capable person Yusuke knows, not to mention he has Morgana looking out for him. They've stayed in touch, Yusuke sometimes sending him pictures of his sketches and works in progress (Futaba showed him how to use the camera on his phone and send images, which had been a revelation). He never shows him finished pieces, however, deciding that the camera would disgrace the final product when it is better viewed in person. Whenever Akira returns to Tokyo, he can treat him by showing him all his new works, and his development as an artist, all at once.
He'd been attending a particularly interesting exhibition in Roppongi and was on his way back to his dorm when he sees the message from Akira, a soft smile gracing his features.]
That would be wonderful. I have nothing planned for Golden Week, so that would be perfect.
Actually, I was thinking just today I would like to see you.
It's been almost a year since we first met, hasn't it?

nah, it makes sense! though it's probably more urban and less backwater-y, since it's close to Tokyo

He can't even finish that sentence mentally. Deep breath.
It's Saturday night, 7:55 PM, and in 5 minutes, he's supposed to meet Yusuke for a date. He doesn't really know what dating is supposed to be like; he thinks that there's some magical lecture he missed out on (or slept through, let's be real here) about all of this. Some adage of wisdom, like making sure he holds the door open for the other, doesn't talk about himself too much, listens to Yusuke when he talks. All those little things that someone with experience would probably have walking into this. He feels like he's doing a paint-by-numbers in the eyes of great artists before him. Or, as the time suggests as it turns 7:58 PM, after him.
To think that he didn't feel this incredibly nervous when the suggestion came up, but now, with sweaty palms, he wonders if something's happened. Or is going to happen. Did Yusuke get lost on the way? Maybe he found something more interesting on the walk over and decided to take its aesthetics in over the promise of spending the night here with Ryuji. He... well, he has every right to.
Owch. That one hurts to think about.
Hands in the pocket of his jacket, he leans up against the wall and looks up at the city skyline. No stars here, that's for sure. But just because you can't see them, doesn't mean they're not there. And for better or worse, he hopes that Yusuke can find the same sort of qualities within Ryuji. Shit. It's stupid to be this worked up over seeing him.]
Ugh... man, just be patient for once.
no subject
... Well, maybe he's a little worried. He knows his cluelessness about others has held him back when it comes to his art, and he doesn't want to do anything that might accidentally hurt Ryuji.
So it's probably not a good thing that he's committing the faux pas of being a few minutes late, even on their first date. The artist looks flustered and a little out of breath when he arrives, but at least has the good grace to look apologetic.]
Ah, Ryuji. Please forgive me; I alighted a few stops before Ikebukuro, but I underestimated how long the walk would take from here.
[He wanted to save some extra money for their date...]

[...Art books? Ah.. the price tags....]
...Are you alright? I couldn't help but overhear you talking to yourself.
[They offer him a gentle, red rose-painted smile. While they have a sort of disguise on, the glamor is only to hide the pointed taper of their ears and make their skin appear to be warmer than it really is. They have a casual sort of style to their clothes, neck adorned by a simple choker and body clad in reserved colors with the odd vibrant splash of a pattern at the bottom hem. The crop of their lilac hair almost hides the piercings in their left ear.
[But who knows how astute a Phantom Thief's perception is to the supernatural? Not that Fay suspects anything at all of the human before them.]
sorry for the wait!
Oh... Yes, thank you. I was deciding which book to purchase. They are far too pricy to acquire both, much as I would like to.
[One is a weighty but beautiful book on classical European art history throughout the ages. The other is a dense text on modern art.]
Ren / chainlinks
He had agreed to meet him outside the station after the train arrived, a small suitcase of worldly possessions and a blank canvas carried under one arm. When he spots his friend, his smile brightens and he makes a beeline over.]
It's truly wonderful to see you again, Ren.

's assduring the break. However, Ren had purposefully delayed them by a few days, saying he needed to have a few things done before they could come. Enough time for him to spend a day (or two) with Yusuke without the rest of his friends being there. Was it a little unfair to the others? Maybe. But it was something he wanted to do. Morgana had been warned of his plan, waxed on something about sometimes needing the comfort of just one friend and 'good thing it wasn't Ryuji'. Thankfully, he also excused himself to visiting around the city for a day while Ren attended his own matters.
And so, that is how Ren greeted him at the train station, bag in toe, but missing a cat inside as he grins back at him. The crispy, humid sea air would quickly fill the lungs of his friends.]

As I have been trying to tell you, I do not have time to find a "cute girl". I have time only to focus on my art.

Everything had been going smoothly until this enemy. It looked like a massive Oni, a large club in hand. It had managed to hit the entire party in one powerful swing knocking them all down. It did some considerable damage with just that first swing and a second was likely to put them near to death. It wasn't the sort of enemy they could take head-on at their level of power.
As it raised its club into the air it looked like this might be it, but suddenly there was the plink of a rock hitting the horned behemoth straight in the head.
The Oni's eyes shifted to a sight the others would be able to look and see. A girl about their age. She had brown hair and brown eyes, and appeared to be wearing the uniform of a school not too far away. It was an all girl's boarding school.
In her hands she had gathered rock debris off the ground and was chucking it at the creature's head. She looked terrified, yet she was doing this anyway.
It seemed to work as a distraction because the Oni was running straight for her. Which, considering it didn't look like she even had a persona, was pretty bad.
The girl took a deep breath and then ran forward, running under the Oni's legs to get some distance. She hoped this was the right idea and that these people would be able to get up.
