Welcome to the World of Avatar, which your characters is now in — whether AU, or dragged through the magic of time and space. Is your character from any of the four nations? Are they a bender, or not? Are they an able chi-blocking artist, or do they sell cabbages out in the streets of the Fire Nation, Ba Sing Se, or even in the South Pole? Do they have to ride the large naval ships of the Fire Nation to get across, or do they have access via beautiful steampunk-inspired ships...?

1. Welcome, Avatar — You are the Avatar. Enjoy learning all four kinds of bending! And, perhaps, the secret fifth one.
2. Cactus Juice — Thirsty in the Si Wong Desert, or wherever you happen to be? Not a problem, open up a cactus and enjoy the juice, or buy it from the establishment nearby. It's trippy.
3. Fight Fight Fight! — You're challenged to a duel, or an Agni Kai — save your honor! Or disrupt it, whatever sets you on fire.
4. Pro-bending — We hope you know the rules. If you're the Avatar, please stick to one element or you're disqualified. Don't you want to win?
5. Chi-blocked — Suddenly, your bending abilities were taken away! Or were you the one that blocked their skills?
6. There is no war in Ba Sing Se — Get ready to escape Lake Laogai, if you can, or are you there to save someone?
7. Underground Library — The Knowledge Spirit has allowed you to read.
8. I'm ready, Sifu — Are you a bender, a humble fighter, or a beginner? Either way, your training starts now! Impress your masters, have fun with your classmates.
9. Is that a Polar bear-dog? — One animal plus one animal makes a crazy combination! Ready to ride a sky bison, or are you ready to run from a pack of armadillo lions?
10. The Cave of Two Lovers — Were you bothered by a band of hippies, and ended up here? Good luck finding your way out. Maybe the riddle they told you would be useful right now. ("Love is brightest in the dark.")
11. Cart riding in Omashu — Using the delivery system as your personal slide. Don't crash into too many houses, now.
12. Kyoshi Island — Want to ride the large Elephant Koi, or the Unagi? Or are you exploring, or a protector of the Island?
13. Wildcard — Lost in a swamp, losing yourself in the Avatar state, or did you drink the wrong tea? The choice is yours!

[Connor is a warrior from the Southern Water Tribe in the Hundred Year War. His mother was Water Tribe and killed in a Fire Nation raid when he was young, and his estranged father is Fire Nation. He travels alone through the Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation colonies in search of his mother's killer, and works with various resistance groups to fight to liberate Earth Kingdom citizens from the grip of Fire Nation tyranny. All the while, he maintains contact with the South Pole to make sure his village remains safe.

Although he comes from a line of powerful Waterbenders, Connor's skill in bending is still very rudimentary and something he tries to keep hidden. He prefers to rely on his weapons.]

[ BSC: Altaïr is a relatively young master airbender, and has recently become leader of a faction in the Southern Air Temple who have dismissed pacifism in the face of impending genocide. They've already fought off several raids by the Fire Nation using trickery and traps to force the armies back down the mountains, and in the uneasy lull before the next attack Altaïr is in search in knowledge that might help in the war.

Alternatively, catch him earlier when he was a little shit banished and sent on pilgrimage for killing a non-bender civilian at the start of the conflict, or later, when he's an aging sage travelling to Wan Shi Tong's spirit library after the destruction of the Air Temples. ]

[ Get ready, all who might threaten the seas! Tsuruhime is the protector of a shrine on the coast of the Fire Nation rich in spiritual energy. An orphan and a non-bender herself, she's nevertheless highly in tune with the world of the spirits, and can use that connection to scry into the future. Whilst she offers her predictions to all who ask, she is fiercely protective of the autonomy of the enclave.

Except sometimes she gets distracted and wanders off. ]

[ASC, some Avatar cycles after Korra: The Boss is from a United Forces military family, and trained to join the military as a teenager, quickly rising through the ranks because of her talent and skill, and founding her own elite bending unit. When she was sixteen, she received news she was the next Avatar. Already having been determined to lead a life devoted to the Republic, the rest of her tenure as Avatar has been spent treading a fine line between her duties to her country, and her duties as the Avatar.

Some see her as a war hero, while others see her as a blind slave to increasingly corrupt politicians in Republic City. If the Boss objects to these opinions of her, she isn't telling; she tries to stay out of the public eye.

Potential scenarios include:
1) Bossatar being dispatched to your character's part of the globe on Avatar duties
2) Taking on your character as a bending student
3) Your character is part of her unit?? war buddy times ensue
4) HIT ME WITH ANYTHING i am seriously down for whatever]

[A tanuki trickster-spirit, capable of assuming most human forms. His kind has lived among humans for a long time, though few still believe in them anymore. Catch him in either his natural form, as a big-eyed, cartoonish raccoondog thing or in one of his human disguises, most commonly as a lanky, shaggy haired, easygoing young man. Of course tanuki love to play pranks and he's no exception...]

[Era 3: The daughter of a Republic City industrialist family, Chizuko was supposedly the kidnapping victim of the infamous thief/folk hero Twenty Faces. In reality she was his willing apprentice, until the United Forces military brought him down. Twenty Faces himself used to work for the old Fire Nation, developing terrible weapons. Anyway, now she's been returned to her old family, where she pretends to be happy...]

[Era 3: Son of the infamous terrorist Elphaba, Liir received his airbending while on the run. A phlegmatic young man, he's unsure about the legacy he's been entrusted with.]

[Era 3 or 4: Part of the infamous mercenary unit Camacho's Caballeros, she blends waterbending and unarmed combat techniques to accomplish her squad's two specialized missions: recconaisance and the destruction of war vehicles from on foot. The Caballeros will work for almost anyone...]

[Pre Harmonic Convergence: From the sticks of the Earth Kingdom, his family has brewed fine spirits for hundreds of years. He grew up with the ability to see and communicate with the smallest spirits, an ability he's learned to hide lest he be thought a crazy person or possesed or something. Now he's come to Republic City to attend the university there.]

[Era 3! Mjrn (totally human, no bunny ears) is from just after the Harmonic Convergence. She's a new Airbender from a family of conservative Earthbenders, and could probably rival Opal for a sheltered past. She's fresh to the Northern Air Temple, so catch her wandering around, trying to get the hang of this airbending business, or sneaking away to cuddle baby sky bison.]

[Era 4. Here's a newly-discovered Avatar, a tiny Earth Kingdom girl barely seven years old. She's not lacking in power, but control and refinement aren't her fortes. Teach her bending? [Era 2: Simon Blackquill is a Fire Nation swordsman, imprisoned in Ba Sing Se's Lake Laogai for war crimes. He's proven resistant to efforts to "re-educate" (read: brainwash) him, meaning he's spent most of the past seven years in a dark cell underground, with little to no contact with the outside world. Occasionally he's taken above ground for interrogation on Fire Nation intelligence, tactics or other information, but in the eyes of most of the world, he no longer exists. And once he outlives his usefulness, his execution seems likely.

Maybe you're a fellow detainee? Maybe you're a Dai Li agent? Or maybe you've discovered the conspiracy and want to free the prisoners of Lake Laogai. CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE etc.]

[He's from before the screw up that released chaos into the world, but after the screw-up that got him banished from the Lion Turtle City. Timebending has clearly happened because he is now wandering through a human town in the spirit wilds and there are clearly no spirits around.

His clothes are ragged and he is obviously homeless. And he's gaping at everyone and everything like they're massive illusions.]

[ non-practicing firebender, born and bred fire nation trash from a prestigious and well known family. his mother and father were killed after an incident involving a man named ryuuhou; a shady tattoo artist and apothecary that koujaku's father had hired. after experimenting on koujaku with ink and medicines that he claimed would 'enhance his firebending abilities far beyond that of a normal bender's', he branded him with tattoos that ultimately caused him to lose control of his bending and burn his parents to death.

now a wandering swordsman, fleeing from his past and determined to hunt down the man responsible for destroying his life and his family, koujaku can be seen ALL OVER THE PLACE. YEAH. ]

[Era 2: Firebender who's been brainwashed by the Earth Kingdom... because attacking his allies is so much fun he needs to do it in AUland! Can be during the brainwashing, the aftermath... anything goes.]

[Era 3. Fire nation who's grown up obsessively jealous of all benders, but has just found out he's an airbender. Come join in his adventures of failing to fit in at the air temple.]

[Bonus "Kain got a Jet ending" option: Either of the above, but with Kain in the spirit world.]

[Era 2: Born and bred in Yu Dao to a Fire Nation colonist family, Sofia is one of those curious multicultural sorts who has adopted Earth Kingdom habits of dress and customs, while still maintaining ties with the homeland of her parents. She collects and trades rare scrolls and books in a tiny shop, and while she has no bending abilities to speak of of her own, she's well-read enough to be able to tell you plenty about the history and various styles of bending.

She's also a well-travelled sort, so feel free to spot her around the Fire Nation or Earth Kingdom, or even tracking down Wan Shi Tong's legendary library. Where there's knowledge to be had, and reading to be done, she'll be there.]
