[??? Well, whoever he is, he seems friendly, which is good enough for him. Asgore starts to lead him down the long passageway, and up the steps that lead up into his house.]

[Hell if he knows how inter-dimensional travel works.]

[Asgore stops in his tracks and looks at Krakatau, his expression becoming more grave.]

Do you... [He hesitates, almost as if afraid to ask.] Do you suppose monsters here could cross back to where you came from, in the same way you came here?

[He turns and leads Krakatau up the steps from the passage and into his house. There's the same smell of golden flowers from the vases around the house, just like in the garden.]

_{[Asgore might notice a strange new flower in his garden today. It's not often you see a buttercup with six petals. ...or eyes. Or a mouth.]}

_{[The flower seems innocent enough. Of course, this particular flower has gotten very, very good at faking it. Flowey himself isn't certain why he's chosen to pop up in Asgore's garden. It's the place where he died, after all. Maybe it's nostalgia. After all, he hasn't come in here that often. Not since the first time. Will Asgore remember him? He doubts it. That new kid...they have more determination. Enough to overwrite Flowey's save files. So this is something of a test. He wants to gauge just how much determination the kid has.]}

[Asgore is startled. That definitely isn't an echo flower, but he's not sure if it's a monster, either. It looks just like the other flowers in the garden... except with a face.]

Oh! Howdy, little flower.

[He stops tending to the rest of his garden and moves over, crouching down to get a better look at Flowey.]

_{[...Noooope. Doesn't remember him at all. What a sucker. This Frisk kid was more determined than he thought. He relaxes, gently spreading his petals to catch the sun coming in from above.]}

[Asgore's smile soon fades. He feels weary, resigned. This isn't a conversation he wants to have, least of all with a talking flower.]

The human will meet the same end as the others. That is how it must be.

Really? You sure? I mean...you already have six. How easy would it be to take what you have and pick up number seven at a graveyard, before it moves on?

_{[There's something absolutely delicious about making Asgore feel bad. He's an idiot to begin with, after all. He could have ended this a long time ago if he really wanted to. But he didn't. That, and he had no idea how strong a red soul could be. Flowey had seen it. Flowey should have let the fury of that soul lash out when it had the chance. Kill or be killed.]}

[Asgore looks away, not quite able to look the flower in the eye. He'd had this argument with Toriel what felt like a lifetime ago. Did this flower see straight through him, as she did?]

We already have a human in our midst. [The line seems rehearsed, forced. For when he has to speak as king, rather than as himself.] It would be wasteful to ignore the opportunity right beneath our noses.

So you say. Come on, Your Majesty. It's kind of obvious.

_{[His face twists, deforms. Splits into a wide, demonic smile.]}

You just can't wait for the opportunity to spill more blood, can you.

[That kingly facade didn't last very long. He takes a moment to gather himself, and lowers his voice.]

... No. Perhaps at first I wanted to fight humans. I acted rashly, out of grief and rage. But now, I... I... [He shakes his head.] I do this because I must... My people are depending on me.
