The Wizarding Meme

Now we've all seen this before, a Hogwarts AU meme!

⚝RULES:
- Post with your character, the fandom, their house and if you want to, their year (or what their house was when they were a student, etc etc.)
- Character can be a Hogwarts Student, a visiting student for the Triwizard Tournament, or an adult of any sort!
- Roll between 1-14 at RNG, or don't!
- Reply to others.
- Profit.

1 ⚝ CLASS: You may pick the class, but really the class picks you. Passing notes? Eying up the teacher? In class whispering? Spells going wrong? Any thing goes!

2 ⚝ LIBRARY: SSSSHHHH! It's study time, but some just don't see it that way.

3 ⚝ HOGSMEADE: With all that hard work, it's time for a well deserved break. Go for a walk, drop by the Three Broomsticks, get some shopping done, or maybe take a peek into the Shrieking Shack, so long as something doesn't grab you.

4 ⚝ QUIDDITCH: For some people, the Quidditch pit is the place to be. Whether you're practicing, watching a game or just doing homework in the stands, this might just be the place for you.

5 ⚝ FORBIDDEN FOREST: WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? IT'S FORBIDDEN. Be careful the spiders don't get you.

6 ⚝ DIAGON ALLEY: Whether near or far, this is where your fellow wizards and witches will gather. Making a day of it or just dropping in to get some chores done? Take a load off, maybe keep an eye out for your friends as they come out of Gringotts or sneak off into Knockturn Alley.

7 ⚝ MEAL TIME: Ah, the Great Hall. A wonderful place to work or play, but then again there's always the Kitchens if you know where to find them.

8 ⚝ YULE BALL: Time to put your best foot forward. That is, until the Weird Sister's start to play. Then, all bets are off. Maybe somebody even spiked the punch when Professor McGonagall wasn't looking.

9 ⚝ SNEAKING AROUND: The Restricted Section? Going to get a midnight snack from the kitchens? Or someplace else? ...Are you sure you should really be in here?

10 ⚝ WANDERING THE GROUNDS: Much like sneaking around, but without the threat of...

11 ⚝ DETENTION: Well, that's what you get for...whatever you did. This isn't going to be fun, you can be sure of that.

12 ⚝ HOGWARTS EXPRESS: Back to wizards and witches, and magical beasts, to goblins and ghosts and to magical feasts! All aboard the Hogwarts Express, want anything from the trolly dear?

13 ⚝ COMMON ROOM: Perhaps you and somebody in your house are just chilling... or maybe- have you been crafty enough to sneak somebody from another house in?

14 ⚝ ACCIO OPTION: Pick your own or make something else up!

Kanien'keha. [He pushes himself up from his stomach to sit up, and hands her the parchment to see. None of it is in English, except odd words like "Hogwarts" that don't translate, so it's not like it matters if she sees his private correspondence.] Mohawk, I mean.

[ Taking it, she looks over the words as if she can actually read them. She can't, obviously. ]

And this is your native tongue?

Yes. I was raised to be bilingual, but my family prefer to communicate in Mohawk.

[He fidgets, used to having to answer such questions, but no less awkward about it, especially because it tends to result in questions like, "Why didn't you study in America?" or "Do you all know magic in your tribe?" or yet other personal questions. People seem to find it fascinating, but he's not sure he really likes the attention.]

[ Luckily for Connor (or perhaps not so much,) Lioriley will not be asking those specific follow-up questions. Instead, she throws him a curveball: ] Can you teach others to speak Mohawk?

I suppose I could, but it's very different from English. It would take a long time to teach even the basic grammar.

[He's surprised at how enthusiastic she sounds, though. No one in Hogwarts has ever asked him that before.]

That's all right! I am more than willing to learn if you are willing to teach. I absolutely love learning new things. [ She's weird, but we already knew that. She lights up, accidentally clutching the parchment a little too much in her excitement. Thankfully, save for a few crinkles on the sides, she doesn't really harm it much. ]

Ah-- Forgive me, I did not mean to do that. [ you can just...have that back now, Connor. oops. ]

[Luckily parchment is harder to scrunch up than ordinary paper, really, so there's no real harm done. He takes it back, not seeming to mind, and sets it aside.]

How often do you wish to have lessons?

Hmm... [ She taps her chin in thought, ] Would twice a week be too much? I do not wish to take up too much of your free time.

No, that would be fine. Which evenings are you free on? I have Quidditch practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

[And she probably has more of a workload than him in general, he figures, since she's an older student.]

[invigorates]

[ Tuesdays and Thursdays, eh? Note to self: go and creep on quidditch practice sometime. ]

Monday and Friday, perhaps? Most days I am studying until it is time for bed, but I can free up a few hours if necessary for this, [ what she wants to say is 'most days my father makes sure I don't stop studying until my eyes bleed' but she can't be so cruel, her crazy dad means well. besides, she kind of enjoys studying like a huge nerd. ] Would that suffice?

Yes, that would be fine.

[It sounds like she works hard. Connor does, too -- his mother and Achilles both make sure he keeps his grades up -- but he's not a bookworm by any stretch of the imagination. Hopefully learning a language wouldn't impact her studies too much.]

Maybe with enough practice, you'll be able to translate these. [He smiles and pulls his letter back onto his lap to finish it, so it can be sent off tonight.]

[ It shouldn't be too bad. Veles will probably think it a waste of time, learning Mohawk as opposed to learning Spanish or something, but whatever, she doesn't care. If she wants to learn something, she'll go to whatever lengths necessary to do so.

Plus, she kind of likes hanging around Connor, even if he isn't as ridiculously social as she is. ]

I am certain with you as my teacher, I will be able to in no time, [ she says with a grin, ] Should I leave you to it?

[He's definitely not as social as she is. While he's well-liked for being an excellent player on the Quidditch pitch, and his kind and earnest personality in school in general has earned him points, he's too quiet to really be the centre of attention in Hufflepuff house.]

All right. [He'll probably take a while anyway; his letters home are infrequent by practicality, so he has to make them lengthy.] I will see you next week, then, Lioriley.

[invigorates]

[ She has to make up for the fact that her asshole dad is, well, an asshole. At least with a likable personality they can't be mad at her for the shit Veles does, right? RIGHT?

She smiles again, pushing back up to a stand and waving as she starts to head up to her room, ]
