The Wizarding Meme

Now we've all seen this before, a Hogwarts AU meme!

⚝RULES:
- Post with your character, the fandom, their house and if you want to, their year (or what their house was when they were a student, etc etc.)
- Character can be a Hogwarts Student, a visiting student for the Triwizard Tournament, or an adult of any sort!
- Roll between 1-14 at RNG, or don't!
- Reply to others.
- Profit.

1 ⚝ CLASS: You may pick the class, but really the class picks you. Passing notes? Eying up the teacher? In class whispering? Spells going wrong? Any thing goes!

2 ⚝ LIBRARY: SSSSHHHH! It's study time, but some just don't see it that way.

3 ⚝ HOGSMEADE: With all that hard work, it's time for a well deserved break. Go for a walk, drop by the Three Broomsticks, get some shopping done, or maybe take a peek into the Shrieking Shack, so long as something doesn't grab you.

4 ⚝ QUIDDITCH: For some people, the Quidditch pit is the place to be. Whether you're practicing, watching a game or just doing homework in the stands, this might just be the place for you.

5 ⚝ FORBIDDEN FOREST: WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? IT'S FORBIDDEN. Be careful the spiders don't get you.

6 ⚝ DIAGON ALLEY: Whether near or far, this is where your fellow wizards and witches will gather. Making a day of it or just dropping in to get some chores done? Take a load off, maybe keep an eye out for your friends as they come out of Gringotts or sneak off into Knockturn Alley.

7 ⚝ MEAL TIME: Ah, the Great Hall. A wonderful place to work or play, but then again there's always the Kitchens if you know where to find them.

8 ⚝ YULE BALL: Time to put your best foot forward. That is, until the Weird Sister's start to play. Then, all bets are off. Maybe somebody even spiked the punch when Professor McGonagall wasn't looking.

9 ⚝ SNEAKING AROUND: The Restricted Section? Going to get a midnight snack from the kitchens? Or someplace else? ...Are you sure you should really be in here?

10 ⚝ WANDERING THE GROUNDS: Much like sneaking around, but without the threat of...

11 ⚝ DETENTION: Well, that's what you get for...whatever you did. This isn't going to be fun, you can be sure of that.

12 ⚝ HOGWARTS EXPRESS: Back to wizards and witches, and magical beasts, to goblins and ghosts and to magical feasts! All aboard the Hogwarts Express, want anything from the trolly dear?

13 ⚝ COMMON ROOM: Perhaps you and somebody in your house are just chilling... or maybe- have you been crafty enough to sneak somebody from another house in?

14 ⚝ ACCIO OPTION: Pick your own or make something else up!

[Rydia's standing outside the owl emporium in Diagon Alley, list in hand but not paying attention to it now, since fluffy owls are hard to ignore. No, it's not really necessary, but...she wants one. Figuring she ought to have some time before she's supposed to meet up with her guardian, the young girl darts toward the front door. Maybe she'll find one just right for her.]

[Connor already has an owl and is only here at Diagon Alley for a trip to Gringotts and for some books and other supplies, but, as ever, he can't help but stop and look at all the owls in the window when he visits. He doesn't much like the tiny cages they're kept in, but at least they'd have plenty of opportunity to roam whenever they find homes...

Noticing the young girl making eagerly for the door, he smiles a little, but then glances over his shoulder and around the Alley. Did she have anyone with her, or was she shopping on her own?]

[Rydia doesn't seem to be in the company of anyone else, and as she goes over to the owls she saw from the window, she looks a little overwhelmed. They're all so cute; how can she possibly decide which one to pick for herself? The clerk is busy helping other first-years and their families at the moment, so she's not getting any help there.]

[Connor follows after her, still looking at the owls. But when he spots her again, she still seems to be alone and looks lost, so he stops admiring a barn owl eating a mouse long enough to head over to her.]

Are you all right?

[Turning her attention from staring at a large snowy owl, Rydia bites her lip.]

How do I decide which one to get? There's so many! And I've never had an owl of my own before.

I suppose you should consider what money you have, and which owl appeals to you the most. Would you like a large owl that can carry heavy packages, or would you prefer a small one? What colour plumage do you like?

[Maybe Connor should become an owl salesman after he graduates. ... Nah, but he's definitely enthusiastic about animals.]

[That's perfectly fine with Rydia, since she needs the help and loves animals, too. She frowns in thought at the questions, glancing back.]

That white one is very pretty, but it's so big. I want one I'd be able to hold, that isn't as heavy. Are there friendlier kinds than others?

What about that one?

[He points to a Little Owl on one of the perches nearby, one of the smallest owls in the store.]

I don't know if there are more friendlier owls than others; they're all wild animals. But the smaller owls eat insects more than small mammals, so they're probably more gentle than larger owls.

[Rydia's eyes widen in delight, and she has to stop herself from scaring it by making a happy squeal.]

It's so tiny! Can you get it down for me, please? How do I hold it? Can I feed it?

[Connor reaches up and the owl obliges by hopping onto his arm in a flutter of tiny wings. Once he's sure the bird is safely in place, he kneels down.]

Hold out your arm. Be careful -- its claws are small, but sharp. [He thinks about her last question.] Do you have anything good for an owl to eat?

[Rydia holds out her arm as instructed, her eyes intent on the tiny owl until she hears that question.]

No, not on me.

[Then she spots the boxes of owl nuts on display and points.]

I could get one of those! It'd like them, right?

[The owl takes some coaxing, but then it jumps onto the little girl's arm and stays there, fluffing up its feathers and peering around at them both with big, curious eyes.]

I think owls prefer meat, and insects, to nuts or fruit. You should buy those, instead. [He points over to a glass box of crickets.]

Okay, I will. I'll get some.

[Rydia nods, taking note. She'll get to that in a minute, but first she raises her free hand tentatively to the owl.]

Hi. Is it okay if I pet you? You're so cute....

[She looks to Connor as she strokes the owl's head lightly, wanting confirmation from him if she's doing it right or if the owl would be happier if she scritched him somewhere.]

[invigorates]

[ We're going to assume Connor finally got permission to go to Hogsmeade, and a certain fourth year is super excited about it. As soon as she spots him in the quaint little wizarding village, she's rushing up to greet him, ]

Connor! Hey, you've finally made it!

[Connor's trudging down alone, too busy staring around at everything to spot her at first -- then she rushes up to greet him and he smiles.]

Yes. [He stuffs his hands in his pockets to ward off the cold.] Professor Davenport gave me permission until I can contact my mother.

[invigorates]

Ah, it must be a bit harder to get in contact with her, being as far away as she is... [ she'd look more upset about it, but her excitement overpowers everything and she scoots up next to him.

Where were you headed, if you do not mind me asking?

She works a lot and has to travel, so it's difficult to stay in contact with her or know where she is.

[Still, he admires her, and doesn't begrudge her for being devoted to her job. Maybe he can be as successful as she is one day.]

This is my first time here, so I don't know. I'm just going to look around... [Maybe stop for a hot drink at the first place he sees. It's cold today.]

I see.

[ now if only her father travelled around a lot-- that's mean, she didn't really think that maybe.

what luck, she was going to suggest something that might help with that, ]

Would you like to go to The Three Broomsticks with me? It's not to far from here, unless you would rather stay out...

[He has no idea why he's asking permission. SENPAI PLEASE LET HIM.]

O-Oh, of course! I did not mean to imply that you shouldn't look around, just that I-- Mm... [ nevermind. she blushes a little, dipping her head down so her scarf will bury the lower half of her face. ]

Would you mind greatly if I came along?

[He's not sure what she's getting so flustered for, and only looks confused. To her question, though, he nods.]

Of course. You are welcome to come.

[ kouhai noticed her. she's got this whole thing backwards.

but look, she's happy again. Yay. ]

Lead the way then. [ and once they start walking: ] I'm really glad you finally had the chance to come here. Hogesmeade is very - ah... - entertaining!
